Filters for the infrared spectrum

IR filters of Pleiger Laser Optics are made of silicon, germanium, sapphire, IR fused silica and ZnSe. The bandpass filters are usually used for gas analysis (H2O, ethanol, methanol, formaldehyde, CO2, CO, NO) and measurement technology.

Neutral density filters (grey filters) are placed in front of the sensors to reduce the amount of light on the detector. Long and short-pass filters are used to block out spectral ranges.

Pleiger Laseroptik offers a unique coating service to customise infrared filters for your applications. This is necessary to protect the components against environmental influences and to optimise performance.

Using the innovative PVD process, we achieve extremely thin layers with an ideal surface structure. You can choose between metallic and dielectric coatings or combined variants.

We use coating technology to improve the filter behaviour at certain wavelengths. Or we can control the transmission of infrared light at steep angles of incidence if this is required due to a measurement setup.

Germanium filters

We guarantee IR filters with long life cycles. These contribute to economical production processes and low-maintenance procedures. We would be happy to advise you in detail on the advantages of certain materials.
